According to 'The Meaning of Liff' by Douglas Adams and John Lloyd, this is 'Kenting'
From the book:
Kent (adj): politely determined not to help despite a violent urge to the contrary. Kent expressions are seen on the faces of people who are good at something watching someone else who can't do it at all.

There are many wonderful words and definitions in that book; this is one that has stuck and has regular use in my family.
Wow.... so you’re telling me you took an action that resulted in the death of one person...... to save the lives of many people.... who would have died if you did nothing??? that sounds so familiar
like 99% of "men and women are soooo different!!!" comedy is literally just describing the experience of not understanding other people. like it's not that women never say what they mean talking to other people is just like that. it can be hard to understand what other people are thinking. bioessentialism really rots the brain
"women will say I'm fine and then not mean it" yeah that's something literally everybody does. is this your first time interacting with another human being my guy
this is one of the only funny responses on this hell of a post
Disability Pride month let's not forget about the people in our community with intellectual disabilities!
I just found out about the Stay Up Late campaign to advocate for people with intellectual disabilities to have the right to go out in the evening and not have to be in bed by 8pm
I learned about it from this video:
And I found the website for the campaign which is here:
Let's support all members of our community
If I were famous I would remain closeted exclusively so people could speculate on my sexuality. I want to get somebody canceled on Twitter for asking whether or not I the faggiest person alive is gay.
Excuse me, I used some outdated language that needs to be corrected. I'm very sorry.
Canceled on X.
I think something very scary that is happening for the newer generation is that the invisible audience no longer exists. They’re not invisible, they’re right there, in their pocket all the time, and that is so physiologically damaging.
“he he ho ho elder millennial thinks technology is evil and Edison was a witch”
fucking no but don’t you remember in middle school when you were like “I’m horrible and everyone hates me” but you literally never had any evidence to back that up so you eventually grew out of it? Now imagine you had a little light box that people from all over the world could tell you that actually yeah they did hate you , and they could do it anonymously. Why do you think teens today are so fucking obsessed with cringe? Why do you think you haven’t seen a gen z horse girl? Like the audience isn’t invisible anymore and the kids have to perform form the second their born.
However, the reason why nobody just abandones it is because the same box also connects you to people who maybe don’t hate you.
I had very much proof in middle school that people hated me. They told me. How disgusting I was, how annoying… However.. The internet already existed 20 years ago. And there I found support. People who didn’t hate me.
But the scope was limited. It wasn’t millions of people who told you either way. It was a handful. For offline contacts, a handful of bullies definitely were more than enough. But online… You’d just block an asshole in the Chatroom and that was that.
That’s not possible anymore and hasn’t been possible for a while. Also moving away from text based communication of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or even MySpace or good old forums and chatrooms, video based social media is a lot more dangerous.
It’s more complicated. And it’s more complicated than what I wrote.
I honestly even think Gen z, more than any other generation, is actually aware of the impact social media has on them. Doesn’t mean they can escape it.
